Company is One of Three Finalists Selected from Ten Proposals

HANOVER, MD / ACCESSWIRE / September 18, 2015 / Brekford Corp. (OTC: BFDI), a leading public safety technology service provider of fully integrated automated traffic safety solutions, parking enforcement citation management and an end-to-end suite of technology equipment for public safety vehicle services, today announced the Company will participate in a 60-day pilot program for body worn camera technology with the City of Baltimore scheduled to start in late October.

Brekford is one of three companies who will participate in the pilot, expected to conclude in late December, followed by a 5-year contract award to the best solution in early 2016. The three companies, which also include Taser International, Inc. and Atlantic Tactical, Inc., were selected as the highest scoring finalists from an original pool of ten proposals. Key considerations during the pilot program will be technical capabilities of the hardware and software, pricing, and program management support. Brekford is the only Maryland-based company selected as a finalist.

"We are excited to participate in this pilot program with the City of Baltimore and to showcase the best body worn camera and video evidence management solution on the market," commented Rod Hillman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Brekford Corp. "We have worked tirelessly with Panasonic and Microsoft, two of the largest and most respected technology companies in the world, to meet the City's requirements for an integrated video evidence management solution. Brekford intends to exceed the City's expectations with Panasonic's Arbitrator BWC body camera and industry leading SafeServ Unified Evidence Management System, which has been operating successfully nationwide with police department in-car video capture systems for nearly a decade. Additionally, with Microsoft Azure, we will be providing the leading government cloud hosting solution, and the only major cloud service that is fully compliant with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services ('CJIS') standards."

C.B. Brechin, Brekford's Chief Executive Officer, added "Brekford has provided public safety technology solutions to federal, state, and local agencies for nearly two decades. Our extensive history in partnering with industry giants such as Panasonic enables us to provide integrated solutions that meet the unique requirements of law enforcement clients, rather than promote a 'one-size-fits-all' technology like many of our competitors. We believe that our integrated body worn camera and evidence management solution, coupled with direct local support will be the best solution for the City of Baltimore, and we are excited for the opportunity to prove this during the upcoming pilot. If we are selected for the contract award, we are looking forward to working with the Mayor's Office of Employee Development in bringing more jobs to Maryland and Baltimore City in the future."

"There is one more subject I would like to address," continued Mr. Brechin. "There have been numerous erroneous news reports and articles, some of which are beginning to recirculate with the recent selection announcement, regarding Brekford's past relationship with the City of Baltimore. We embarked on a program to provide automated traffic safety enforcement services in 2013 which ended in a mutual termination agreement prior to full rollout of the project. Brekford spent nearly a full year and significant resources in attempting to replace a prior vendor, without the benefit of cooperation from that vendor during the process. While we acknowledge that some mistakes were made by Brekford during the transition, many news reports have inaccurately attributed numerous alleged errors made by the prior vendor to Brekford. Issues with the program prior to Brekford's involvement occurred in a live operating environment, while certain 'errors' attributed to Brekford occurred during a testing and start-up phase, which is normal and expected with such large scale project implementations. Due to the difficulties associated with guaranteeing a 'zero error' program and other complex issues at the time, Brekford and the City mutually agreed that it would be in the best interest of both parties to amicably terminate the engagement. We have had a long-standing positive relationship with the City of Baltimore that continues to the present day and we intend to solidify that relationship by demonstrating the best body worn camera solution during the upcoming pilot program."
