St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Selects Panasonic Arbitrator BWC

HANOVER, MD / ACCESSWIRE / January 21, 2016 / Brekford Corp. (OTCQX: BFDI), a leading public safety and security technology service provider of automated traffic safety enforcement ("ATSE") solutions, parking enforcement solutions, and an end-to-end suite of technology equipment for public safety vehicle services, announced today that the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office will be the first agency in Maryland to deploy Panasonic's next generation body worn camera system, Arbitrator BWC.

St. Mary's, who has a force of more than 100 sworn officers, purchased thirteen cameras for their initial deployment phase. Brekford will provide the systems and all associated implementation support and training, as the Sheriff's Office adds another tool to their evidence capture capabilities. As a current user of Panasonic's Arbitrator in-car video solution and Unified Evidence Management System ("UEMS"), the Sheriff's Office understands the benefits of utilizing a single platform for all video evidence management requirements.

Sarah Ellison, Brekford's National Director of Business Development said, "We are thrilled to work with the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, one of our longtime customers, on this initial deployment of the Panasonic Arbitrator BWC solution. Brekford has worked tirelessly with Panasonic and Microsoft over the past year to develop a comprehensive body worn camera solution that combines capture technology, secure evidence management software, and government cloud services with superior implementation and program support. With incredibly clear wide-angle HD video in a rugged device designed to handle the rigors of police work, St. Mary's will be impressed with the performance of these cameras."

Brekford has installed in-car video and evidence management systems in thousands of law enforcement vehicles throughout Maryland over the past ten years. Moving forward, the Company sees a clear opportunity to provide the Arbitrator BWC to many of these agencies who seek to maintain compatibility with existing systems while using tried and true Panasonic technology. Beyond Maryland, Brekford is seeking to expand into new markets nationwide with its body worn camera program. The Company is currently pursuing opportunities in Delaware, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, and Indiana as police departments are seeing the benefits of Panasonic's technology coupled with Microsoft's secure cloud storage and Brekford's program management support.

Rod Hillman, President and COO of Brekford, commented, "This initial purchase order from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office illustrates the fact that Panasonic's Arbitrator body worn camera is in full production, and now there is an alternative on the market to other solutions that may lack the extremely low failure rates, robust evidence management capabilities, and dedicated program support provided by Brekford. We have collaborated with the Panasonic Rugged Mobile Solutions Team for over fifteen years implementing public safety technology solutions. Today, law enforcement agencies need more than just a technology manufacturer; they need comprehensive support which is what Brekford has been delivering for nearly two decades."

Hillman concluded, "Brekford is disappointed, but not deterred by the recent announcement that we were not the selected vendor for Baltimore City's body camera program. We remain highly confident that Panasonic's technology with Brekford's program support will gain momentum in 2016. We received extremely positive feedback from officers and technical personnel throughout the Baltimore pilot program, where we were the only vendor to provide 24/7 direct support. The top competitor has a 3-year head start in this business, which tends to sway decision makers for large-scale projects. We believe that once police departments gain experience with the next generation Arbitrator Body Worn Camera, they will understand and communicate the long-term benefits of unrivaled rugged technology and comprehensive turnkey program support provided by Panasonic and Brekford."
