HANOVER, MD / ACCESSWIRE / September 4, 2014 / Brekford Corp. (the "Company") OTCBB, OTCQB: "BFDI"), a leading public safety technology service provider of fully integrated traffic safety solutions, parking enforcement citation collections and an end-to-end suite of technology equipment for public safety vehicle services, today announced the launch of its body-worn evidence capture system manufactured by global technology leader, Panasonic.  Brekford will provide the 180-degree wide-angle view wearable camera as an optional integrated component of future rugged mobile IT installations for police departments and other public safety agencies. Panasonic's wearable camera will ensure the recording of an officer's entire interaction for evidence in judicial proceedings.

Brekford has collaborated with the Panasonic Rugged Mobile Solutions Team for over fifteen years implementing in-vehicle public safety technology solutions.  In order to perform their duties effectively, law enforcement personnel require a rugged, always-on computing solution that seamlessly works both inside and outside of their vehicle, whether responding to an emergency, making a routine traffic stop, or conducting a police stakeout.  They also rely on computer-equipped vehicles to serve as their mobile command centers.  Unreliable or substandard in-vehicle computing solutions can negatively affect an officer's ability to assist victims, access police records, or solve a crime in a timely manner.  In addition, law enforcement agencies must safeguard computers and data at all times.  To address the unique in-vehicle computing needs of law enforcement agencies, Brekford has collaborated with Panasonic to implement vehicle-mounted rugged Toughbook(r) laptops and video Arbitrator 360 Degree(tm) systems.

"Brekford is excited to offer another video technology to the public safety enforcement market," commented Rod Hillman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Brekford Corp.  "As longtime users of Panasonic Toughbook(r) mobile computers, many agencies have already embraced our Panasonic Arbitrator(tm) mobile digital video evidence collection solution, and now there is an increased urgency to deploy wearable camera systems with an integrated evidence management software suite for court proceedings.  Today with just about every criminal case involving a video, especially a high-quality video, the prosecutor's office shows it to the defense attorney, usually resulting in a plea agreement rather than a lengthy and expensive trial."

C.B. Brechin, Brekford's Chief Executive Officer, added, "We are an innovative company that takes pride in being on the leading edge of product and service offerings for the public safety enforcement community.  Although wearable evidence capture has been gaining momentum for the past several months, recent events have prompted an increased awareness and demand for this technology throughout the country.  Brekford is in the process of responding to the heightened interest level with an eye toward converting recent inquiries to orders in the near future."
